Man, I hope that this isn't the direction things are headed in. No optical drive = no software. You have to either download it (prohibitive, slow, hard to find legally) or buy an external drive, which completely defeats the purpose. And no Ethernet? How the heck am I supposed to connect to my Office's high-speed network? And, worst of all, only 1 USB port. Even my ancient Windows NT computer has 2.

I was hoping for a small Apple laptop similar to the 12" PowerBook; it's tiny, lightweight and still has full functionality. This looks more like an overpriced toy for trendy Metrosexuals.

I fell in love with this when I first saw the keynote, but than I had thoughts. Damn thoughts.

I hear now that USB ethernet adapters don't fit in the tiny USB port on it.

The battery is not replaceable, so it's basically a large iPod.

But, I agree. In a few years most laptops, not just Apple's, will go in this direction. We're already seeing it with Fujitsu' Lifebook and the new ASUS lappie that are trying to outdo Apple in thinness and portability.

I would love to get one but I just got a Macbook. I feel that this is the direction all of Apples laptops will be headed eventually. Nice blog, peace.
